We build in shared or exclusive areas, but always & only in neighborhoods that consistently maintain the highest standards allowable for appearance & maintenance.
Greatland is currently building single family 2 story, Rambler & Patio Homes in the following communities. Berres Ridge in Lakeville, Greatland Addition in Savage & The Wilds Community in Prior Lake.
Buying a new home is one of the biggest decisions you will make in your life. Greatland Homes works with its new homeowners to help ease this process by walking you through every step of this process. It all starts with your preference of community, and a home that best suits your family’s needs. Rest assured we will be there with you every step of the way to make the experience of building your dream home an enjoyable and exciting one.
The design process is one of the most important parts of buying a new home. We work hard with our clients in this aspect of the building process, as this will consume a lot of time in the process of building your new home. Here are some helpful hints to get you started: Organize your plan room by room, and ask yourself questions such as “What amenities would I like in my kitchen? What kind of carpet would I like in my living room?” Create a wish list, room by room. Include features, your plans for using the room, special pieces of furniture you intend to bring and anything else that will help our team understand your vision. The more prepared and organized you are, the better our designers will understand your goals for your new home.
Greatland Homes has many floor plans for our clients to choose from. Our in house, draftsmen and designers work closely with our clients to custom design different areas of your new home. Once the conceptual design is complete, we move on to the budgeting phase of your design.
At this early stage, it is too early to solicit actual bids from subcontractors. Instead, we will target the budget by identifying an expected cost per square foot. We will determine this cost based on our experience, and our conversations regarding your home’s amenities, finishes and features.
After agreeing on the conceptual design, our design team will proceed into CAD drawings. This design will proceed to a set of drawings that can be bid by subcontractors, which is called the “bid set”. Once we reach this point, we will pause the design process to prepare a formal budget to make sure we are on track with your budget expectations.
The owners consider all of their designers, sales staff, subcontractors, suppliers & support staff as part of the Executive Team. The owners simply guide and manage this to the benefit of you, our customer.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the construction and concrete industry, Bob's beliefs have always come from a strong foundation. Our company is built that way and so is every home we build. That is what separates Greatland Homes from other builders as an industry leader.
Tom is technical college-educated and industry experienced since 1974. His hands-on approach with home-building insures an informative and responsive experience for all. He hopes to make Greatland his legacy and the number one choice for distinctive homeowners.
